who we are
youth pastor:
blaine st. germain
I didn't grow up in church and honestly
church didn't appeal to me much. I wanted
to know more about God, but was really
turned off by the way my church presented
Him. I thought in order to be a Christian,
I had to be this borning nerd with no life.
Since then, I have learned that's not God
at all. That's what Impact does. It offers
God in a way youth can understand and relate
to. Give me a call if you have any questions.

My heart is for the youth of Jennings and
surrounding areas. So many of our teens grow
up going through issues from; broken homes,
drugs and alcohol, sex and suicide... most of
which I experienced as a teen. I want teens to
know that God loves them by giving them a
place of refuge and a way out from this world.
God has brought me through so many things in
my life so I can share with our teens. From
growing up in a single-parent family and foster
care. The same things God has walked me
through, I can help our teens walk through
with God's help.

As a teenager I worked at Dry Creek Camp as a
staffer and couldn't wait until I could be a
counselor one day... one problem... I loved kids.
Teenagers - not so much. The summer before my
senior year at La. Tech Univ. God opened the
door for me to be a counselor at the Creek. My
first group of girls ended up being Blaine's,
(now my husband and youth pastor) youth
girls. I fell in love with them. Each time I get
to hang out with a girl and see myself as a teen
in them, I feel blessed. I love living life with
these teenagers because I believe God is using
them to turn the world upside down!

I am currently a student at McNeese majoring
in nursing. I also play the bass in the Sunday
morning service. My goal is to take the focus
off of me, the band and even the youth members
and completely come to the point where we are
100% focused on God. He has blessed our youth
greatly and will continue to do so if we
wholeheartedly serve Him. Keep us in your
prayers.

When I was younger, I struggled with both
and rage. This worsened when I got older and
started causing depression and loneliness. But
God had different plans for me. He sent some
truly wonderful people into my life and helped
me overcome a lot of struggles in my life. One of
the biggest struggles I've gone through is
feeling accepted and the fear of failure. But
God has proved to me that I can do all things
through Christ and am capable of doing great
things.

I grew up in a broken home and was abused
several different ways. I know there are many
teens going throught the same circumstances
that I went through. I have a desire to help
guide them by showing them how God rescued me.
I had trust issues but have learned that we
can truly trust God and He will always be
faithful to us. I have looked for love in several
different places, but God's love is the only one
that has ever satisfied me. I have a desire to
help show that love to teens who have never
experienced it.

I am not sure how to put into words how God
has worked on my heart while working with the
youth. What's really cool is teenagers have
such an open outlook on God. They are truly
inspiring to be around and give me a fire to
serve. Often times teenagers don't get the
discipleship they need because of their unique
dress, music or attitude. Once they know and
feel that we accept them they are open and we
have the opportunity to minister to them.
Working with youth has forever impacted my
heart.

Teenagers can be and are usually misunderstood.
God had kept fresh in my mind how misunderstood
I was at their age. I had a rough start in my
walk but I've learned a lot from what I've been
through. I believe with all my heart that
everything God brought me through was a
learning experience for His plan for me to be used.
He called me to work with an amazing group of
young girls that I not only get to teach and help
but they teach me. You can learn a lot working
with them. God has put a love in my heart for
these girls and I know that through Him I can
make a positive difference in their lives.

I have lived in Jennings my whole life. I'm
married to a wonderful man and have two
daughters. I gave my life to Christ when I was
22 and have been following Him ever since. God
has given me a burden for teenagers and a
desire to help them discover how God's love and
His desire for them can radically change their
lives. I believe He has placed me in Impact so
I can show His love and help our youth
discover His plans for their lives.
